Fulton Raises Money For Sheriffs Department “Operation Christmas”

Fulton Mayor Henry Hale presented Sheriff James Singleton with a check for $500 fir the Sheriff’s Department “Operation Christmas” on Tuesday November 13th.  Mayor Hale said he instituted the fundraiser because the Sheriff’s department had been so supportive of the youth in Fulton last year.  Mayor Hale had one of his students, 8th grader Chance Gulley, to draw the winner of a 32 inch tv which was being given away as part of the fundraiser.  The winner was Mary Hendrix of Fulton.  Sheriff Singleton says over $12,000 has been raised for “Operation Christmas” this year and donations are still being accepted.  The shopping will be done locally at Wal-Mart in Hope on December 15th and the young people will be on hand with the deputies, teachers, and others who have helped.   Sheriff Singleton says they hope to help at least 100 youngsters this year.  If you’d like to help send a check to “Operation Christmas” and mail it to the Sheriff’s Department at 312 Washington Street, Hope, 71801.  You can also contribute to the “Operation Christmas” account at Diamond Bank.
